Pole Request

Overview:

At Hack OHI/O 2020, Ohio State's flagship hackathon with over 800 attendees, and the first fully virtual version, my team and I accepted a challenge presented by event sponsor AEP by utilizing data and an API that they provided to present meaningful and helpful data.
We overcame challenges setting up technology as well as untimely power outages and plenty of homework due to be submitted during the event.

The result was a Ruby on Rails web app utilizing Bootstrap, javascript, and Apple's MapKit JS.

The app includes a map with each provided pole pinned along with data on the type of asset and the ability to mark a pole as inactive or "out."
There is also the option to upload photos of poles which are sent to AEP's pole-identifying API.

The project can be found on GitHub.
